Sebbag Family

Rabbi Yitzchak and Miriam Sebbag  are delighted to be in Be’er Sheva, and serve the community under the Head Shliach Rabbi Zalman Gorelik, along with their seven children. Previously, they ran a Chabad House in New Jersey for thirteen years, along with a preschool that is still active. As emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, they are dedicated to adding meaning to individuals, based on his teachings and insights.

Rabbi Yitzchak and Miriam Sebbag are here to focus on the English speaking community, reaching new immigrants, students, and unaffiliated individuals, within the ever-growing city. In addition, they will strengthen and add to the programs and infrastructure already provided by the Anglo Chabad of Be’er Sheva, merging their capabilities with the existing community leaders.

In the months since they’ve started their Chabad House in Be’er Sheva, the Sebbags have distributed Shalach manot by the holiday of Purim to the community & assisted in distributing to the families at Merkaz Klita, conducted inspiring farbrengens (Chassidic gatherings), initiated a weekly Tefillin outreach route, as well as started one on one personal Torah study sessions, and hosting weekly Torah & Tea, and inspirational classes for women. By Passover, they had Halacha classes on the laws and customs associated with the holiday, and delivered hand shmura matzah for the Seder. With the onset of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, they’ve distributed challah and chicken soup Shabbat kits, as well as Shavuot kits and will continue counseling and supporting individuals during this challenging time.
